PCN code 62: meaning and how to appeal

Higher levelOn-street parking

Official description: “Parked with one or more wheels on or over a footpath or any part of a road other than a carriageway”

What it means

One or more wheels were on the pavement, verge or another part of the road that is not the carriageway. Pavement parking is banned across most of London; outside London it can only be enforced as a parking contravention where a traffic order prohibits it.

Footway suffixes: 1 = one wheel on footway, 2 = partly on footway, 4 = all wheels on footway, c = on a vehicle crossover, g = on a grass verge.

Code 60 is reserved for a future 'parking whilst obstructing the pavement' contravention in England outside London; it was not in general use when we last checked.
